The worst part about social, sharing intent
Indulge me for a second while I vent about something else that bugs me about social media. You’ve seen it before—someone posts, “Might mess around today and start a business.”
Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing bad about sharing your intentions. But let’s be real: getting a bunch of likes for saying you might do something is not the same as actually doing it.
It makes me wonder—how many great ideas or ambitions fizzle out because we post about them, bask in the quick dopamine hit from the likes, and then... never take the next step? I’m guilty of it too—I’ve fallen into that trap more times than I’d like to admit. But these days, I’m trying to skip posting and do things in silence.
